Be aware that the excuse “I didn’t have time” is most often another way of saying “I didn’t want to do it.” Every day has 24 hours – 1440 minutes. It’s hard to imagine a day so jam-packed that 2 or 3 of those minutes couldn’t be re-routed to accommodate this or that quick call, text, or e-mail. Now that people don’t have to put pen to paper, stamp, and mail correspondence, it is hardly imaginable that an important task can’t be addressed in some way. Call it organizational skills, time management, or priority assessment – with the obvious exception of our kids’ ball game, homework, or bedtime story, most of us have time to take care of the things we deem important. A good thought to keep in mind when you are tempted to give this excuse, or when someone offers it to you.
