Some things I love about living in New England

I am a New England native and have lived here almost my entire life so my opinion is a little biased, but I think that New England is a great place to live for many reasons. Whether you are considering relocating to New England from another area of the country or are already a member of the New England community, then read on! Here are a few reasons why I love New England:

Weather – Sure we can get big snow storms in the winter, but there are 4 great seasons in New England and they say that variety is the spice of life! There is just something about waking up in the winter to a coating of fresh snow on the bare tree limbs and warming up next to a fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate. Spring brings rain, but the flowers and trees are plentiful and beautiful in New England. The summers can get hot and humid, but nothing like the South! I lived in Florida for a summer and it was just so oppressive. Sorry Floridians, there is a reason that New Englander’s only visit Florida in the winter! And probably the most famous season of all is Fall in New England. People come far and wide to “leaf peep,” but I can just look outside the window of my home and enjoy the leaves throughout the year and especially the Fall.

Outdoor Activities – New England offers outdoor enthusiasts plenty of activities to do all year round. Winter sports are plentiful from ice skating to downhill and cross country skiing, sledding, ice fishing, and snow moiling just to name a few. Spring and summer offers plentiful opportunities for enjoying the beach or boating at the lake and most residents are within less than an hour drive to the ocean. The White Mountains are great to visit all year long and there are plenty of campgrounds and vacation resorts.

Great Professional Sports Teams – New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and the New England Revolution. Not to mention several minor league teams. Enough said!

Night Life and Entertainment – Great Boston offers some great activities for all ages. Boston night life and general entertainment rivals the the best of them, from great restaurants, night clubs, theaters, concerts, historical tours, theme parks, and museums. Education – New England is a hub for excellent colleges and universities and some of the best schools in the nation reside in New England.

Jobs – New England hosts some of the best technology companies in the world, from pharmaceuticals, bio-tech, and medical device companies to financial companies and national brands like Dunkin Donuts and Green Mountain Coffee, and local restaurant chains such as the 99′s. New England Real Estate – New England offers a little bit of something for everyone. Whether you like to live in a penthouse downtown in the city of Boston, to a town house in larger suburbs located in the Rt 95 beltway such as Waltham in Metro West or Woburn the home of eXp Realty New England, or in a bungalow located on the sea coast on Boston’s North Shore such as Gloucester or Ipswich or Salisbury, or in a cape on the Cape, or in rural farmhouse in New Hampshire or Western Massachusetts. New England has it all.

Public Transportation – The “T” is widely available in downtown Boston and is well connected with the local commuter rails.
